Expert in navigating high-stakes technical pivots—from full-stack web development to autonomous mobile robotics and AI. Proven record of executing complex architectural migrations (gRPC, React/Python, OpenTelemetry) and scaling enterprise platforms for industrial inspections. Dedicated to building high-performance teams and the technical infrastructure necessary to support global strategic partnerships and business rebranding.
Leadership: Technical Strategy, Engineering Support for Business Pivots, Scrum/Agile, Team Scaling, Project Management (Jira).
Backend & Systems: Python (Flask), gRPC, C# (.NET), Java (Spring), MongoDB, Docker, OpenTelemetry, Entity Framework.
Frontend: React, Angular (1.0 & 2.0), Knockout.js, SASS/CSS, HTML5, UI/UX Design.
Robotics & AI: Skydio & Boston Dynamics API Integration, Computer Vision (CV) Metadata & Vector Extraction, Analog Gauge Reading, Thermal Modeling.
Version Control: Git/GitHub, SVN (Legacy).
VP of Software Engineering | 2024 – Present
Strategic Executive Leadership: Providing the engineering framework to support the company’s rebrand and pivot toward autonomous drone and robot industrial inspections.
2026 AI Innovation: Directed the development of detection vector outputs from computer vision models, replacing static renderings with actionable data, and re-designed the use of MongoDB storage to isolate AI inspection metadata.
2025 Product Management Support: Facilitated internal project management on the platform by working with stake holders, building backlogs, and managing priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
2025 Nvidia Stack: Worked with the Data Science team, pivoting toward the Nvidia TAO Toolkit, DeepStream, and Cosmos Reason to simplify & standardize AI model development and production solutions.
2025 High-Performance Architecture: Transitioned the platform to use gRPC services (instead of HTTP and file shares) to ensure data transfers between the platform and model services doesn't touch a hard drive until required. This also made a clean separation from the model inference services and the rest of the platform, allowing horizontal scaling by enabling deployment of microservices across a shared network interface.
2025 Full-Stack Observability: Centralized system-wide logging and performance tracking using OpenTelemetry, providing real-time health monitoring for the entire robotics-to-cloud ecosystem.
2025 Data Pipeline Orchestration: Researched and incorporated Redis capabilities (specifically Redis Streams), and developed an event-based orchestration data pipeline to allow increased parallel processing, more robust adaptability and extensibility across the entire platform.
Lead Software Engineer | 2019 – 2024
2023 Architecture Pivot: Orchestrated the wholesale transition into having a web interface for the Cognitive Inspection Platform (CIP) using React and Python (Flask), significantly improving the user experience and visibility of our AI model offerings.
Robotics Genesis: Forged the engineering integration with the Boston Dynamics Spot robot; developed back-end services for mission data capture and autonomous model deployment.
AI Model Deployment: Developed and refined proprietary AI models for industrial use cases, including corrosion detection, concrete crack analysis, and vehicle/people detection.
Strategic Partnerships: Collaborated with Skydio to facilitate large-scale drone deployments, navigating the market shift toward Western-made autonomous flight hardware.
Software Engineer to Senior Engineer | 2006 – 2019
Company Scaling: Key engineering contributor as the firm evolved from a local marketing provider (csnglobal) into an enterprise application powerhouse (CSNMedia).
High-Profile Visual Computing:
Built a web-based interactive 3D globe for Nasdaq used for business data visualization (threejs).
Developed an animated 3D globe using Java for IBM.
Developed and launched a Super Bowl ad campaign landing page for Focus on the Family.
Enterprise Software: Led a 3.5-year engagement building a whole life insurance sales enablement tool, allowing financial advisors to model complex value propositions for customers using Java, knockout, and Google Cloud services. This used CI/CD processes with direct from git to production deployment capabilities. The CI/CD process also allowed for us to spin up QA environments for rapid internal testing, and user validation.
R&D Innovation: Architected interactive office window demo boards; developed a system allowing users to connect via mobile, take a selfie, and see it instantly join a floating photo gallery on a large-scale display.
Engineering Operations: Facilitated the transition from legacy SVN to Git/GitHub and worked within Scrum methodologies with cross-functional teams (Devs, QA, POs).
